The second tale, 'The Adventure of the Missing Hamlet,' sees Holmes and Watson investigating the mysterious death of Franklin Burley on the Cornish cliffs, uncovering a plot by Burley himself—disguised as a mentally disabled boy—to frame his half-caste daughter-in-law for his murder. The twist reveals that Burley, aided by a Moriarty associate, attempted to steal the legendary Ur-Hamlet manuscript, only for Moriarty to appear and eliminate both Burley and the evidence. Though Holmes solves the case and clears the innocent woman, the priceless manuscript is lost to the sea, leaving Moriarty one step ahead once more.
